about

Virginia artist Jimmy Drew started playing guitar at the age of twelve when he picked up his brother's guitar which had been given to him by his talented older cousin. Jimmy caught the music bug early playing with his first garage band called Blue Wilma (named after a local girl who had been pulled out of a local frozen lake in 1978. After a spat of gig's with that band and a few other Garage bands he decided to form his own band called Strange Advice in the early 80's. That band was his first really good band and during that time he started cutting demo's in local studio's honing his songwriting skill's. After a few years of playing gig's in the Tidewater area of Va. the band dissolved and Jimmy decided to form another band.
The Image Bank was formed in 1989 and they were planning a recording session at Mitch Easter's drive-in studio but the band broke up because of some members inner demons ( Drug's & Alcohol issues). After taking a short break from the business Jimmy put another band together with some friend's and called the band Les Distracted, soon after Jimmy was asked to play with the regional band called The Killer Neighbors and after a few years of playing up and down the east coast worked on their CD entitled been there done that with a Flock of Seagull's drummer Micheal Marquett producing. During the recording of the CD there was some conflict in the studio because the producer did not like the fact the Jimmy played like John Lennon and tried to dumb down his playing so he left the band, Even though he is on the CD he never looked back.
In 1997 Jimmy released a CD entitled For Those Who Have A Clue but shortly after fell ill with Crohns Disease and had to retire from performing live or working at all. After many years of trying to just take care of himself he decided to start recording demo's again and was writing extensively. In August of 2010 he released a new CD entitled Somewhere To Fall which was a collection of some of the songs he wrote during this time. Presently Jimmy is working on song's for a new CD and hope's to start performing live again.
